WITH OUR EXPERIENCED & LICENSED TOUR GUIDE, EXPLORE THE SIGHTS OF THE HOLY LAND
Start your day with a sunrise climb of Masada, ascending to the top of the ancient fortress in darkness and gradually witness the lighting-up of the surroundings. Once reaching the top of the mountain, sit back, relax and take in the beauty of this extraordinary event. After the highlight of our Masada Sunrise Tour, head to the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, an extraordinary oasis with magnificent desert plants, wildlife, and waterfalls perched in the center of a barren and empty desert. Enjoy walking through the greenery and cooling off in the springs. And finally, float in the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth. The lake is made up of 34% salt and contains minerals and muds with special healing properties.
Begin the day at Masada, ascending via the cable car and touring the fortress which dates to King Herod’s time, taking in the incredible views across the Dead Sea region and the Judean Desert. Next, we’ll head to Ein Gedi, where you will be able to walk through the oasis that sits here in the middle of the desert. Continue to the Dead Sea, where there will be a chance to bathe in the muds and float in the waters of this salty lake which is the lowest point on Earth. Leaving the Dead Sea, we’ll head back to the start point, passing Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, and, the lowest and oldest city on Earth, Jericho, on the way.
Explore the Judean Desert with a licensed tour guide, on board of a Jeep, and learn of plants and animals that inhabit this extreme environment. Your ultimate Judean desert Jeep tour will start from a water cistern in the desert. You will learn from your local guide how water is stored in the desert. Continue your trip in the Jeep and stop at an observation point and admire the breathtaking views over the 1,500-year-old Mar Saba Monastery. After that amazing views, take some time for a short break and enjoy some coffee, tea, and cookies. The last stop of the day will be an observation point with panoramic views over the Dead Sea.
